  10. 1. Run the Virtual PC™ 2.0.1 Updater to update the Virtual PC 2.0
  11. application to 2.0.1. The updater will prompt you to locate your Virtual PC
  12. 2.0 application on your hard drive.

  14. 2. After the update is complete, launch Virtual PC 2.0.1.  Once in Windows
  15. 95, make sure you are running in Windows mode (you can toggle the screen
  16. mode to "Window" mode by pressing Command-M.)
  17.  
  18. 3. Drag the file "Update.exe" to the PC desktop.
  19.  
  20. 4. Double-click the "Update" (Update.exe) icon.
  21.  
  22. Note: If you can't see the Mac desktop in "Window" mode, set the screen
  23. size for Windows 95 one size smaller than the Mac screen size. (example:
  24. set the Mac to 832 x 624 and Windows to 640 x 480).

  26. Note:  If the following message appears when dragging the "Update" to the
  27. PC desktop: "An unrecoverable processor error has been encountered. The PC
  28. will reset now", you have encountered an incompatibility with the shell
  29. extension feature of WinZip and Virtual PC 2.0's drag and drop feature.
  30. Winzip can be used with Virtual PC 2.0 if this feature of Winzip is turned
  31. off. To turn off the shell extension: launch the WinZip application, choose
  32. the "Options" menu, then choose "Explorer Configuration..." and uncheck
  33. "Explorer Shell Extension".

  35. Note: If you have multiple hard drive images you should update each drive.

  42. 1. Run the Virtual PC™ 2.0.1 Updater to update the Virtual PC 2.0
  43. application to 2.0.1. The updater will prompt you to locate your Virtual PC
  44. 2.0 application on your hard drive.

  46. 2. After the update is complete, hold down the Option key and launch Virtual PC 2.0.1. This brings up the Virtual PC Preferences. In the Preferences, select the D: drive. Press the button Select Hard Drive Image.

  48. 3. Navigate to the Virtual PC™ 2.0.1 Updater folder on your hard drive. Select the Update201 hard drive image and press Open.

  50. 4. Press Restart.

  52. 5. At the command prompt, type:

  54. d:\update
  55.  
  56. The updater launches and installs the necessary files in the Connectix and/or DOS directories. You are notified when the update is complete.

  58. 6. Restart by holding down the Command key and selecting Restart PC from the Control
  59. menu.

  61. The PC restarts and the update is complete.
